    Editor-in-Chief Dr. Charles Lockwood’s Top 10 New Year’s Resolutions for 2015

Our Editor-in-Chief's wish list is for peace on earth . . . and goodwill toward the world's women and the ob/gyns who treat them. Helping patients and their babies live longer and better tops the list, but making physicians' lives easier is important too; thus the wishes that involve less time spent on the computer, fighting lawsuits, and dealing with insurance reform. And regardless of profession, we'd all be better off if number 4 magically comes true!

No. 10: Reduce prevalence of obesity in US by 10%.

No. 9: Do away with Sustainable Growth Rate; stop playing chicken with Medicare.

No. 8: Adopt tort reform to reduce defensive medicine cost.

No. 7: Find morcellation alternative & ensure vaginal hysterectomy not lost.

No. 6: Increase HPV vaccinations; end US cervical cancer deaths.

No. 5: Find a way to use EHRs that doesn’t take longer than seeing patients!

No. 4: Eliminate political ads (and reality shows) from TV.

No. 3: Lift the cap on residency slots

No. 2: Get the national preterm birth rate below 10% & end racial disparities.

No. 1: Eliminate preventable deaths during childbirth worldwide.
