Great idea - let's bring back operative obstetrics! How do we turn the clock back to an era when obstetricians were skilled in such maneuvers? I might be bold to opine that under the current medico-legal environment where perfection is the standard and injury is a priori evidence of negligence along with the increasing trend for our MFM colleagues to recommend interventional obstetrics, the average American obstetrician may not have incentive to undertake a Scanzoni maneuver, let alone an outlet forceps.
